Kent is an experienced real estate attorney who also practices in the areas of corporate lending, commercial transactions, and general corporate and business law.

He has significant experience representing financial institutions in repossession and foreclosure actions throughout the state of Ohio, providing counsel regarding real estate title and ownership issues, drafting and negotiating residential and commercial lease agreements, and representing clients in the acquisition and sale of real estate. In addition, Kent has advised several property management companies regarding landlord/tenant and eviction issues and corporate policies and procedures.

Kent also provides counsel to a significant wireless telecommunications carrier on issues and opportunities related to LTE upgrades using macro, distributed antenna system (DAS), micro and small cell technologies. This also includes negotiating DAS, small cell and Wi-Fi agreements with large venues and stadiums, as well as with small businesses. In connection with the deployment of small cell wireless technology, Kent prepares, analyzes and negotiates attachment and use agreements on behalf of wireless telecommunications carriers to obtain access to the facilities of municipalities and utility providers throughout the country.

Prior to joining Porter Wright, Kent served as in-house counsel for a real estate company where he provided counsel on a wide range of corporate legal issues, including landlord/tenant issues, debt collection issues, and real estate acquisition and sales transactions. Additionally, he worked in private practice representing clients in real estate and civil litigation matters. Kent now uses this experience to consider legal issues within the corporate context to add value to the legal services he provides to the firm’s clients.
