Jason is an associate in the firm's Litigation Department focusing on commercial litigation.

Prior to joining Porter Wright, Jason worked at a private-equity investment firm in Chicago where he sourced and structured potential acquisitions of middle market manufacturing and distribution companies.

During law school, Jason mentored first year Legal Research and Writing students as a Teaching Assistant. He was a staff member and Articles Editor on the Capital University Law Review. He also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Jeffrey S. Sutton of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and to the Honorable Gregory L. Frost (retired) of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.

  • Regularly represents a large electric utility in tort litigation involving alleged catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, and other claims. 
  • Member of trial team that successfully attained a complete defense verdict in favor of a large electric utility in electrocution litigation involving allegations that catastrophic injuries resulted from the utility’s maintenance of distribution lines in violation of the National Electrical Safety Code’s horizontal clearance standards.
  • Regularly represents a large pharmaceutical company in tort litigation involving alleged catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, and other claims stemming from automobile accidents.
  • Regularly represents a large casualty insurer in litigation involving slips and falls and other tort claims.

  • Representing trustees and administrators in multiple litigation matters involving dispute over management of trust and estate
  • Representing beneficiaries, co-executor and co-trustees in probate dispute involving control of closely held business.

Intellectual Property Litigation

  • Represented a large manufacturer of water coolers in dispute over false and misleading advertisements circulated by its chief competitor, the result of which was the competitor’s removal of the offending advertisements from circulation.

Transportation and Logistics

  • Represented a large supermarket chain in litigation alleging that the chain, as consignee, was liable to the freight broker in the event of the consignor’s non-payment of freight charges.

Oil & Gas 

  • Regularly represents a large oil and gas company in natural gas and natural gas liquid pipeline projects requiring the use of its eminent domain authority to appropriate property.
