Daniel Conway appointed to the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio

Porter Wright is pleased to congratulate partner Daniel R. Conway, who was appointed by Gov. John Kasich to serve as one of five Commissioners of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO).

Conway has practiced energy and telecommunications law at Porter Wright for more than three decades, representing electric and natural gas utilities as well as telecommunications firms in a variety of matters, appeals and actions. He also is an adjunct professor of law at The Ohio State University, teaching public utility regulatory law.

“We are proud to congratulate Dan on his appointment,” said Robert Tannous, Porter Wright’s Managing Partner. “He will be a tremendous asset to PUCO, and we look forward to his many contributions to the State of Ohio during his term as Commissioner.”

PUCO’s mission is to assure all residential and business consumers access to adequate, safe and reliable utility services at fair prices, while facilitating an environment that provides competitive choices. The Commission is comprised of five Commissioners appointed to rotating, five year terms by the Governor. Conway has been appointed to the term beginning April 11, 2017 and ending April 10, 2022.
