EmployerLawReport Blog:  Mr. Knapp has extensive experience with both employment- and family-based immigration, including nonimmigrant (temporary) and immigrant (permanent) visas and employment eligibility verification (I-9 compliance). He routinely counsels employers on strategies available for hiring non-citizens. He also assists employers in complying with employment eligibility verification and document retention requirements that apply to all employees. Mr. Knapp’s particular areas of concentration include H-1B (professionals), L-1 (intracompany transfers), E-2/E-1 (investors/traders), TN (Canadian & Mexican professionals), and labor certification (green card processing). His experience ranges from processing nonimmigrant visas and green cards for engineers and information technology professionals at boutique firms to assisting multinational corporations recruit and retain top executives. For the health care industry, he has obtained green cards for pharmacists, nurses and physicians and temporary visas for residents. In the L and E visa context, he helps overseas investors and companies understand the various options and requirements for commencing business in the United States and transferring key personnel to U.S.-based operations.
Mr. Knapp also speaks fluent German and has represented clients from German-speaking countries with a variety of corporate and business immigration matters.
