Ethics in Estimating and Bidding

Tom Nocar will participate in a panel discussion for the Columbus Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute, Inc. titled, "Ethics in Estimating and Bidding" on Monday, June 13, 2016. This presentation will explore why it is important to uphold ethics in estimating and bidding, and how reputation can affect projects on many levels. Participants will leave with these takeaways:

  • Be able to define industry terms such as bid shopping and bid peddling.
  • Be exposed to scenarios in competitive bidding that may cross the line as unethical/illegal.
  • Widen perspectives from experts who will address different aspects of the project team.
  • Learn the nine Cannons of Ethics aspired to by Certified Professional Estimators (CPE) of the American Society of Professional Estimators.
