Affirmative action

Since the issuance of Executive Order 11246 in 1965 requiring government contractors and subcontractors to conduct affirmative action and related analyses of recruitment, hiring, promotion, termination and compensation decisions, Porter Wright has provided advice to clients large and small on compliance with federal laws regarding affirmative action.

We routinely prepare affirmative action plans for clients and conduct and review data analysis on employment decisions. We have assisted clients with voluntary compensation studies involving thousands of employees across all 50 states and offered advice on next steps following the compensation studies. We also have assisted numerous clients with responding to audits by the federal Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) and assisted clients after an audit revealed alleged violations of federal affirmative action laws, including negotiating favorable resolutions of the matters.
